New Feature Highlights with SilverFast 8.8 With releasing the new SilverFast version 8.8, the software has been extended with some newly developed features.
	SRDx – Defect Detection for Black and White Film SilverFast‘s reliable Dust and Scratch Removal now available for black and white film. Black and white film emulsion contains silver halides, which reflect infrared light. Therefore, our proven iSRD technology, that utilizes the scanner‘s infrared channel, can not be applied on black and white film. But now there is a remedy. SRDx features entirely new algorithms to detect and accurately remove defects like dust particles and scratches on color film, negatives and now, for the first time, black and white film, and photographs as well. Scanners which do not support the infrared channel can take advantage of this new technology. The Eraser Tool is used to specify image areas, where no correction should be applied at all.
	History Functionality The new History feature remembers all processing steps of your image optimization with SilverFast, but offers much more than just a simple "undo" functionality. You can return to any previous edit made at any time. For this purpose, all processing steps are shown as thumbnails. You can not only skip backwards through the history of your edits, but also forward again. It is also possible to switch individual processing steps off and on again.
