Thanks to the unique SilverFast Focus functionality, users have full control over focus settings, allowing them to extract a few more percentage points of sharpness out of the images. The high density of the LS 9000 ensures excellent tonal reproduction and enables the capture of details in shadow and highlight areas. This is crucial for unlocking the full potential of high-quality film materials and for achieving impressive results. With the SilverFast Multi-Exposure feature, the dynamic range perceivable by the Nikon LS 9000 can be significantly increased. Multi-Exposure achieves density values of 4.03, not quite reaching the theoretical value of 4.8 as specified by Nikon but still very effective in practice. We recommend a more powerful scan software such as SilverFast, as the included Nikon Scan is out of the scanner’s depth. SilverFast also offers the possibility to calibrate the scanner. The tools for automatic corrections are working properly and contribute to better imaging results. […] Grain can be effectively reduced by multiple scanning. The autofocus accomplishes a perfect job for accurately mounted slides and smooth film strips.
